Accessibility

Statement of accessibility.

I want this site to be usable by everyone, regardless of input device, screen size, or assistive technology. It targets WCAG 2.2 Level AA conformance.

What this site does

  • A skip link as the first focusable element on every page.
  • Visible keyboard focus indicators on every interactive element.
  • Semantic HTML landmarks (main, nav, header, footer) and a single h1 per page with sequential heading order.
  • Respects the prefers-reduced-motion and prefers-contrast: more system settings.
  • Light and dark themes that meet WCAG AA contrast for body text.
  • Resizable text without horizontal scroll up to 200% zoom.

Known limitations

  • Older blog posts may include images without ideal alt text. I'm working through these.
  • PDFs linked from the research page (papers, theses) are produced by external publishers and may not be fully accessible.
  • The accent color in light mode meets AA but not AAA. The prefers-contrast: more override pushes it to AAA.
